Mewa Developers Limited (MDL) is a hydropower project development company established with the
objective of developing, building, and operating hydroelectric projects in Nepal. MDL is developing two
Peaking Run-of-River hydropower projects, namely Middle Mewa Hydropower Project – 73.5 MW with
six hours peaking and Siwa Khola Hydropower Project -9.3 MW with one hour peaking in Mikhwakhola
and Merigden Rural Municipality of Taplejung District.
The Power Purchase Agreement for both the
projects has been concluded on a take-or-pay basis. The projects are expected to generate combined total
energy approximately 490.72 GWh per year and power generated from the project shall be connected to
the national grid through the NEA’s Dhungesaghu/Hangpang Substation.
